Healthy Eating in a hurry email Dr. Taylor

Greetings and thank you for visiting my website. I am Dr. Scott Taylor, formally educated as a veterinarian with advanced training in immunology. For the past two decades, I have been on a quest exploring the cause and remedy of disease. The objective of my work has been focused on the cause of inflammation with the intent that discoveries would lead to effective preventatives and therapies for inflammatory disease.

Early in my quest, I recognized that inflammation was the major cause of diseases. Now, more than ever, the body of scientific evidence continues to support the theory that chronic inflammation plays a critical role in causing most dangerous diseases including cardiovascular disease, arthritis, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disorders, neurological disease, endocrine dysfunctions, respiratory disease, gastrointestinal ailments and psychiatric diseases.

In my adventure to discover ways to mitigate disease causing inflammation, I explore all fields of medicine including conventional and alternative remedies. For example, there are certain dietary supplements that are safe and have very effective anti-inflammatory benefits. I was one of the first to recognize the link between insulin resistance and inflammation and how a balanced low-carb diet will reduce inflammation and disease. My studies have also found safe and effective pharmaceuticals that are useful in dealing with inflammatory disease.

Others are recognizing the importance of inflammation and disease. For example, TIME magazine dedicated a story, "The Secret Killer," to inflammation, and its link to a host of chronic degenerative disorders. The attention that inflammation is now drawing begs the questions, what are the causes of inflammation and what's the best remedy for them?

So, few will argue that it is important to control inflammation to reduce disease and enhance health. However, the way in which one controls inflammation is open for debate. The risk of pharmaceutical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) has recently been exposed. Vioxx® was recently removed from the market by its maker, Merck, because it caused significant increase in the risk of heart attacks. Soon afterwards, Pfizer announced that Celebrex® raises the risk of adverse cardiovascular events by 250%, and now the safety of Aleve is being questioned. There's no doubt that the long-term use of NSAIDs for chronic inflammation is very risky.

Thankfully, there are effective ways to control inflammation that are not only safe and effective, but reduce the risk of disease rather than increase it. For example, the dietary supplement, Green Lipped Musscle is a very safe and effective anti-inflammatory therapy. Green Lipped Mussel (GLM) (Perna canaliculus) is a New Zealand shellfish, from which an extract is used to control inflammation. GLM is produced via a unique Centrifuge process and is Freeze Dried at low temperatures to preserve vital Omega-3 fatty acids and Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) contents. Use of GLM is producing several beneficial results for people with many stubborn inflammatory disorders. This product is a unique fatty acid that is an effective inhibitor of inflammation. Its potency to reduce inflammation is approximately 200 times stronger than fish oil. This is essentially the same as Lyprinol®. Those of you who are used to Lyprinol®, will find GLM equally beneficial.

Another impressive dietary supplement that has recently caught my attention is Ultra Policosanol. Recent clinical studies suggest that Ultra Policosanol has the ability to reduce triglycerides and LDL levels and raise HDL cholesterol levels without the adverse side effects seen with the use of statin drugs. This is a very promising dietary supplement and thankfully very inexpensive.

My revised book, "Dr. Taylor's Remedi for Healthy Living", (SOLD OUT) contains updated information regarding insulin resistance, essential fatty acid metabolism and inflammation, weight loss and fat metabolism, and growth hormone deficiency. It also has a section of recipes from quick snacks to dinner entrees that will help you comply with a low-carb diet.

I am adding an e-newsletter to better communicate with those of you interested in staying current with my work. Please sign-up and follow along. I also encourage you to email any questions that you have. I consider the dialogue and feedback from my customers extremely valuable.
